While I may need to leave some of the surprise for my craft sale, I thought I'd show some new characters that won't be able to make to the show... Unless, I have the time to make some more. Eeep! My fingers are telling me that's a crazy idea. We'll see.
My first sea monkey is going off to the talented Mica Angela Hendricks, and her 4 year old daughter Myla. Being a huge fan of their collaborative artwork, I was incredibly honored to get this request, for something more unusual and unexpected. I had no idea how I was going to pull it off, but it worked out by combining two of my already existing patterns. I am going to do my best to make a few sea monkeys for the craft sale. I think it turned out pretty fun.
I made two sea witches, as a bit of an experiment, which I was tampering with already. I wasn't sure if I was going to make a cutesy one or a funny looking one, so instead, I made both. Surprisingly, they both turned out lovely, and sold to the same person! Normally, I would say I could try and make another in time, but considering the time these two took, and the way this yarn worked my fingers.. it'll have to wait until after. That light purple yarn is tough!
I will admit that the chubby sea witch is going to be tough to part with, and recreate. I enjoy when I have moments like this, because it doesn't happen very often. There'll definitely be a sea witch or two at the craft sale (in different colors), but none quite like this one. I'm glad the two are going to a good home together, to play with the lovely Amelia. :)
So.. that means it's time to get back to work. I have another full day of crafting to get out of my way, while I enjoy the remaining moments of my Easter long weekend. It has been a busy one!
I'm so excited to see everything when it's finished up and put together. Until then... finger fire!
